Help for editing a taxon name
This form allows you to edit a taxon name.
- With the combo box you can select another rank.
- The fields with the name parts must be filled (and if needed the level for
hybrids must be indicated).
- The field UnnamedNamePhrase can be used to add name elements that are not in accordance with the rules of ICBN but which are needed (e.g. "unnamed taxa" or historical ranks as "grex").
- If the taxon is a cultivar you should enter the cultivar name and eventually the cultivar group name both without quotation marks, brackets or parentheses.
- You can select other author teams or basionym author teams in three steps: first
selecting "no selection", then selecting the first two characters and
finally the author team itself (each time with the combo boxes).
- If you do not find the author team you look for, you can create it by following the "New author team" link and then chose it.
- You can also edit notes for the name.
- With the "Check" button you can check whether the data you entered follow nomenclatural rules.
- With the "Apply" button you update the name record. Afterwards you get back to the main form.
- And, as usual, with the "Cancel" button you get back to the main form without having
changed the name record.
